Malaysian Research & Education Network (MYREN)

MYREN is a National Research and Education Network that is used by academia and research institutions for collaborative research.

  • Several of the largest universities in Malaysia are connected to MYREN.
  • It is linked to international research communities in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America via the Trans Eurasia Information Network 3 (TEIN3).
  • Researchers connected to MYREN are able to communicate and collaborate over the virtual work space and their counterparts in Malaysia and overseas at improved network performance and lower latency.

MYREN : Polycom's Success Story

 

In an effort to enhance collaboration among its educational network and extend e-learning programmes, whilst also improving network performance and lowering latency, MYREN deployed Polycom® RealPresence™ Platform – the software infrastructure that powers Polycom’s market-leading HD telepresence and video solutions and is the most comprehensive software infrastructure for universal video collaboration – at its main headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and in outposts across Malaysia. The technology is being used by members to facilitate e-learning, develop an extended programme for its 88 stakeholders as well as hold project discussions with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Conference/Seminar/Workshop

MYREN Cloud Launch

Y.B Dato Seri' Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Minister of Higher Education will launch MYREN Cloud on the 27th of June 2011 from 9am-12noon at Mines International Exhibition Convention Centre. MYREN Cloud consists of several key services and applications for the benefit of MYREN community to leverage on to ease and assist their research and education activities.
